The next thing which need to be done before installing the work is the curating of the exhibition. I didn’t do this alone I had the help of two other fellow students for this. Unfortunately, we couldn’t be in the space whilst curating the exhibition. I managed to get in contact with a friend, who studies at Leeds Beckett University to draw a floor plan of the unit. This made it easier to visualise where everyone’s work will go and know the measurements how much work could fit on one wall.
With the work being at university we used the empty studios to help plan each room, we did one at a time and tried to categorise the work with in a theme or similarity so the worked flowed throughout the space.
Once we knew where people were going, we created a number system which linked up with everyone’s names. Once we got back in to the unit I measured out the space everyone had, and put their names and numbers where they would be. What we also decided to do, so it didn’t get crowed with people coming to put work up, we created a document which told them if they were upstairs or downstairs. The peoples work who were upstairs would come in on the Sunday and install whilst a team of us finished the painting downstairs.
