Experimenting with Quadra

Updated: May 2, 2020

Following on from my discussion this week with my lecture I decided to try using the Quadra Lighting equipment out, so I asked a fellow course mate to model for me. I am still in the process of looking for a female farm. By photographing my course mate in the meantime, I can develop my technique so when it comes to taking photos of the female farmer I will know how and what I need to do.

For the location of this shoot I just chose a local reservoir where the background was mild and spacious. This helped me focus on my subject rather than the surrounds. I felt that this shoot went well for a first try using the equipment and balancing the light on the subject. This will be something that I shall try when taking photographs of the farmers.

After editing the images, I liked how the lighting helped draw out the subject but I know I need more experience in photographing the subject with having some details of the background visible. By the end of the shoot I felt that I started to achieve this goal but I do need to research more into how I can use the lighting equipment to benefit my project in the best way.
