Installation Time

The time has come to install the work, but first I needed to get everyone work who was partaking to the unit. This was very stressful, as the day we decided to move the work it was very windy. With help from a friend, who used their car to transport the art work and the security at University, who help me carry the works out we managed to get the work to the unit in the same condition.

Over the course of both days, I helped other students installing their works. On the Sunday once nobody need any help I started installing my own work. I had a friend to help me out with the installing process. I knew it would be rather difficult to put my work up, but did not expect to be still trying to install the work 3 hours later. The first issue I had, was measuring out the wall and made sure there was the same distance between each piece of work. Having two portraits and landscape made it a bit harder. Once we measured up we could start with the drilling the screws into the wall, however the wall had other plans. The screws didn’t seem to want to go in to the wall, so after trying for 40 minutes we decided that gluing was the only option left.

I used command glue to stick the pieces of MDF on the back of the aluminium sheet, so we used what we had left over on the piece of MDF for the wall. The glue worked and stayed on the wall which was a relief, but I am scared for what it will be like coming off the wall.
