Lockdown

Updated: Apr 24, 2020

At this moment of time it is a very uncertain situation we are living in; with the outbreak of coronavirus we have had to change our daily routine. Because of this our university has decided to close for the forcible. We have all had to adapt and change our way of working, the next month is a critical time for final year students at university as this is when they will be submitting their final works.

This week at university would have been our last Interim before our final show. We were going to use this as a trail run for the final show. Looking at the materials which we may possibly use and how much space we would have had, to experiment with on displaying the work using the space wisely.

It has taken me a couple of weeks to get my head around the things we had planned will no longer be happening, as soon as we thought it would be. It has been rather difficult for me to adapt a new working style at home to complete my work, I had 3 more shoots planned which I am keen to do once the lockdown is lifted. In the meantime, I am seeing this as a unique experience which everyone is going through currently and trying to find normality again. Over the next few months’ lectures have arranged zoom calls so we can show our work, any questions we may have and to be there for chat if we feel we need it.

It may be challenging and strange time now but I’m certain will see the light at the end of the tunnel soon.
